I grew up fly fishing and guiding trout streams in the Rocky Mountains, mostly Colorado. It was a great place to hone my skills, but I always felt a tug to the Pacific Northwest. I decided to get my degree at the University of Oregon in Eugene and I’ve been fishing here ever since. Although I’ve had the privilege of fishing all around the world, the Willamette Valley and the McKenzie River are home for a reason. I mostly fish for salmon, steelhead and trout in Oregon’s rivers and lakes but I also do a lot of crabbing, ocean fishing and foraging for mushrooms.
